About Mitchell
Mitchell is currently an undergrad student at the University of Southern California pursuing a BFA in Musical Theatre. His passion for theatre and storytelling brought him to apprentice in scenic design at Encore Theatrical LA (ETLA) in tandem with his professional training. With 11 years of performing under his belt, Mitchell brings a unique perspective to theatre - both onstage and back. While he is well-rounded in technical theatre (proficient in skills from lighting to rigging to carpentry), he specializes in set design and decorative painting with extensive experience in designing and rendering faux finishes (marbling, glazing, graining, etc.)
Mitchell’s scenic painting credits range from a lighthearted, impressionistic rendition of Seussical to a sobering, realistic rendition of Les Misérables. He debuted as co-designer of Legally Blonde with ETLA, and has worked closely with ETLA to design elements of Matilda, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Sweeney Todd.
Alongside working with ETLA, Mitchell works freelance as a scenic designer, and most recently has co-designed Assassins and Myths and Hymns at the University of Southern California with his partner, Chris Magallanes.
